How do painting companies get more estimates?

1. Use leads that are only yours

Shared lead sites send the same homeowner to several painters. Thumbtack painting leads go to four or five companies at once, and Angi leads are commonly shared with up to five pros. You are paying to enter a race, not to get an estimate.

Ads you run for your own company, in your own zip codes, produce homeowners who asked to hear from you specifically. Facebook and Instagram, Google Local Services Ads and a website with local search traffic all work this way.

2. Call back in minutes, not hours

The Harvard Business Review study of 2,241 US companies found firms that contacted a lead within an hour were nearly 7 times more likely to qualify it than firms that waited longer. The same research found the average response time was 42 hours, and 23% of companies never responded at all.

For a painter on a ladder, the fix is someone else making the call: an office manager, an answering service or a booking team.

3. Book it, then confirm it

A lead becomes an estimate when it has a date, a time and an address on your calendar. Collect the scope (interior or exterior, rooms, timeline) on the first call so you show up prepared, then call the morning of to confirm.

4. Track cost per booked estimate

Cost per lead is a vanity number. Divide what you spent on a channel by the estimates it actually put on your calendar. That one number tells you which source to grow and which to cut.

Where Paint'd fits

Paint'd does all four for residential painting companies: we run your Facebook and Instagram ads, call every lead within 30 seconds, book the estimate on your calendar and confirm it the morning of. Our own campaigns average $8 to $12 per lead, and we take one painting company per service area.
